Historic summit Friday between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un

South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will sit down for a historic summit Friday and will be accompanied by the most powerful officials from both countries. 200 kilometers separate them from Pan Mun-jom, the place where they will meet the South Korean delegation. Kim Jong-un will cross the border at 9.30 a.m. Korean Time. As of the 26th April, The KCNA (the North Korean press agency) is not providing information related to the “historical” trip of Kim Jong-un.

Pak Yong Sik: new Defense minister

North Korean officials on last Saturday confirmed Gen. Pak Yong Sik has replaced the country’s former defense minister, believed to have been executed for insubordination. The country’s state-run Korean Central News Agency said Pak, a four-star Army general, was promoted to head of the Ministry of the People’s Armed Forces. It is the first confirmation from Pyongyang since Hyon Yong Chol was executed after dozing during government meetings.
