The Trump administration announced new sanctions toward NK individuals.
The Supreme Leader of the Party, state and army (경애하는 최고령도자), Kim Jong Un invited the President of Cuban Council of State to North Korea.
Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army, inspected the construction site of the Wonsan-Kalma Coastal Tourist Area again.
During this meeting Kim Hyong Ryong discussed the willingness of North Korea to improve its relations with South Korea. Surprisingly, he also met the head of the South Korean delegation So Ju-sok (the chief of unification and foreign and security policy in the Blue House – aka Cheong Wa Dae).
North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui arrived in Moscow on Saturday (local time) to hold a trilateral meeting with China and Russia. On the second leg of her trip, Choe will take part in vice-ministerial talks with Russia on Monday, and trilateral talks including China on Tuesday, according to Russia’s Tass news agency. Choe Son Hui was also present at the Trump-Kim summit in Singapore.
Mun Song Mo was appointed as DPRK ambassador to Thailand, according to a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK.
Mun Song Mo (born in1948) is a former DPRK ambassador to Ethiopia, Sudan, India (where he served from 2004). He also served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK.
Mun Sung Mo belongs to those who were not expelled by Kim Jong Eun after the Jang Sung Thaek execution. He’s believe to be a close confident to the regent family.
The relations between both countries are complicated. From one side, there are many DPRK companies based in Thailand (such as restaurants), from the other side, Thailand is a country from where DPRK refugees try to reach South Korea. Therefore many DPRK agents are based in Thailand.
