New Security Agency set up in North Korea

North Korean authorities recently established in July 2020 a new Central Committee agency called the “Organization Administrative Department” that will handle surveillance and “party control” over the country’s legal, security and police agencies. One of its key missions will be the control over the borders of North Korea.

This organization may be similar to the former Central Administration Department of the WPK, which was managed by the deceased Jang Song Thaek.

Its director wll be Kim Jae Ryong, who also acted as former Prime Minister of North Korea. He was replaced by Kim Tok Hun.
