North Korean leadership promotes Im Chon Il to vice foreign minister

North Korean authorities promoted First European Department director general (유럽1국장). Im Chon Il to the position of Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Born in the early 60’s Im Chon Il studied at the Kim Il Sung university and in Soviet Union. Later he served as a diplomat in various European countries and in Russia. Between 2010 and 2014, he served as the consul general of North Korea in Nakhodka. (Far East of Russia) In February 2018 as the head of a NK MOFA delegation, he went to Russia. Im Chon Il will collaborate with Choe Son Hui, nominated in February 2018 as a Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Sin Hong Chol.
