Choe Son Hui is travelling to Moscow for trilateral meeting

North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui arrived in Moscow on Saturday (local time) to hold a trilateral meeting with China and Russia. On the second leg of her trip, Choe will take part in vice-ministerial talks with Russia on Monday, and trilateral talks including China on Tuesday, according to Russia’s Tass news agency. Choe Son Hui was also present at the Trump-Kim summit in Singapore.

Choe Sun Hui is the adopted daughter of Choe Yong Rim, a former North Korea Prime Minister.

Choe is born in 1964. She was educated in North Korea (Kim Il Sung University), Austria, and Malta. She was also educated with Thae Yong-ho in high school in Beijing.

She has extensive experience in US and international affairs. She served as an aide and interpreter at the last substantive efforts to negotiate with North Korea, the so-called six-party talks which broke down in 2009.

North Korea Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui met with a deputy Chinese diplomat to “discuss issues of the Korean Peninsula,”.

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou met with Choe in Beijing, and the Chinese government issued a photo, published on its website, showing the two officials shaking hands.
