Meeting between the DPRK FM and other politicians during ASEAN summit

According to the Chinese embassy in Great Britain, on August 10, 2014, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Foreign Minister Ri Su Yong of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on the sidelines of the series of Foreign Ministers’ meetings on East Asia cooperation in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. The two sides had in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations and issues of common interest.

According to the North Korean Press Agency (KCNA), the Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang had also talks with Ri Su Yong:

Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang on Aug. 7 met and had a talk with the DPRK government delegation led by Foreign Minister Ri Su Yong on a visit to Vietnam.

He said that thanks to the wise leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung, the bilateral relations have developed with deep roots, adding that it is the consistent stand of the Vietnamese party and state to boost the bilateral relations as taught by the preceding leaders.

The Vietnamese party and government always remember the material and moral assistance rendered by the party and government of the DPRK to the Vietnamese people in the difficult period including anti-U.S. resistance for national salvation and feel grateful for it, he said.

Noting that Vietnam admires the successes being achieved by the Korean people in their efforts to ensure the security of the country, develop the economy and improve the people’s standard of living under the wise guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un, he affirmed the invariable stand of the party and government of Vietnam that Korea should be reunified independently and peacefully free from foreign interference.

He hoped that both countries would make joint efforts to boost the bilateral relations in political and economic and various other fields on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year.

Ri Su Yong was also seen next to the US Secretary of State John Kerry, they had some unofficial talks.
